TipicME for J2ME and Personal JavaTipicME allows J2ME and Personal Java mobile phones to communicate with friends who use MSN Messenger, ICQ, AIM and Yahoo! Messenger. The new version features many improvements and bug fixes over the previous version and comes in three editions optimized for the following phones:
- Nokia 7650
- Sony-Ericsson P800
- Siemens S55/S57 (coming soon)
Following are the new features for TipicME 1.2 Basic:
- improved User Interface
- autoreconnect if the connection is broken
- improved messaging and presence reliability, allowing you and your friend to know if a message was correctly sent/received.
- more stable connection and some bug fixes
In addition, the P800 version, written in Personal Java, feature:
- personalized avatar support (take a picture and set as avatar!)
- notification of new messages even when you are using other application or with flip-closed
A PRO version of TipicME will be available soon, it will feature:
- possibility to choose the XMPP/Jabber server you want to connect to - bandwidth usage compression (up to 50%)
- support for location based services
- 128-bit encription of your communication
TipicME allows you to connect to XMPP/Jabber servers and to the ICQ, MSN and Yahoo networks (through transports). To configure the transports it is advisable to download TipicIM on your desktop and use it for that purpose. Please be advised that you might still encounter problems configuring the Yahoo transport (we are working to ameliorate it).
TipicME and the server Proxy can be integrated with any IM platforms on the server side; at this stage the integration is done on XMPP/Jabber Server. Feel free to contact Dave Linch (dave@tipic.com) for commercial questions about buying or licensing the product.
