Domains

A single Site Instance of TIMP.NET can manage a fully fledged IM server for all users of a specific domain (ex. user@mycompany.com), by providing presence and instant messaging services.

Since a Site Instance of TIMP.NET can manage more than one Domain, it is possible to provide several fully fledged IM servers running on a single physical machine. You can have different different IM servers for different departments of the same Company for example: user@dep1.mycompany.com or user@dep2.mycompany.com (this is very similar to the virtual hosts setting of Apache or IIS).

Besides log-on domains for users, a single Site Instance of TIMP.NET can host different "Service Domains"; these domains are associated to components that provide services other than basic IM; for example:

Lastly, there are also domains that offer "System Services", associated to Components that provide services which are not visible by end users, such as:

In the future, Tipic Inc. could offer a sip-client.gateway or an imps-client.gateway to accept client connecting from sip or wireless village devices respectively.
